Prices for sight correction surgery
I would just like to ask the question about price, and that is there is alot of difference between companies. Why is Ultralase so expensive in
comparison, is there a major difference between the surgeries involved. For example one compay will do both eyes for just over £1000 - help!!!

Dear Matt
Thank you for your enquiry.
The first point I would make is that not all laser eye treatment is the same.
There are different types of surgery and different types of laser. Some clinics have more experience than others and success and re-treatment rates
differ widely between providers.
Ultralase does not believe in performing cheap or heavily discounted eyesight surgery, which could compromise the quality of the treatment.
We set our prices at a level that, we feel, represents the best value for money for patients, which takes account not only of our experience and
expertise, but also of our significant levels of investment in new technology, unprecedented elsewhere.
With 13 years’ experience, we are the UK’s longest established laser eye treatment provider and leading LASIK specialists, having performed over
65,000 LASIK procedures. We operate a policy of continuous improvement and have used this long track record of experience to deliver what we believe
to be the best possible overall service to our patients.
We are the only laser eye clinic in the UK to subject its treatment outcomes and enhancement rates to the scrutiny of independent auditors; we are
also the only UK clinic group to invest solely in proven Technolas technology from world-leading laser specialists, Bausch & Lomb. In independent
review documentation, published by the US Government’s Food & Drug Administration (FDA), patients treated using the Technolas laser achieve better
results than any other laser.
We are the first laser eye group in the country to offer wavefront-guided LASIK technology throughout a nationwide network of clinics. We also
recently became the first UK clinic to install the state-of-the-art Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix Z100 laser system, which incorporates iris recognition
and multi-dimensional eye-tracking technology.
In choosing a laser eye treatment provider, my advice would be to do your research. Visit a number of different clinics before you decide which one
you would trust to perform the procedure on your eyes, and decide which factors are the most important in making your decision. There will always be
those on the lookout for big discounts, but it's unlikely that Ultralase will be right for them.
Bear in mind that, as with any surgical procedure, laser eye treatment carries an element of risk; these risks are explained in detail at
consultation.
Regards
Julie

Cost!
My sister went to Optimax for her laser eye treatment and had PRK approximately 2 years ago. The treatment cost her around £1000 for both eyes to be
done and she was and still is very unhappy with the results as she can't see enough to drive and has to wear glasses. I have heard a lot of good
things about Ultralase and feel I would be paying for quality service and treatment.

When considering your eyesight, cost should be the last consideration; you're not buying a car.
I would feel very uneasy about entrusting a 'discount' merchant to set about my eyes.

I work for my city Council. Is there any compensation or partial compensation scheme for the council workers, who are considering to undergo the LASIK
treatment?
Thank you.

Hello Darius
I'm afraid that we don't have any corporate discount schemes associated with city councils.
We do operate a number of easy-payment schemes, including interest-free credit*, that will help spread the cost of treatment. For more details, call
us on freephone 0808 144 20 20.
Kind regards
Robin
