Poor service.
Hi,
I recently had my consultation, and was very impressed. I decided to go ahead, and that's where the problems start. I'm an operational Police officer,
and will need six weeks of restricted duties after surgery. That takes a marathon effort to organise, and involves several departments.
In the consultation, I was told that there were some places in January, and plenty of availability in February.
I've done all the leg work to get the time sorted, now I'm being told that in late December, they can't book me in in February because of procedure-
I've got to wait a couple of weeks. That'll take it into the new year, and if they then turn round and say I cant have the date i've organised, I'm in
big trouble at work.
I'm now considering going elsewhere, and sorting it out for later in the year. Has anybody else experienced this? Are they telling the truth or is
there something more sinister here?

Hi Laseine,
What provider was this with? Did you provisionally book the appointment or were you told to call back?
Thanks,
Luisa

This is Ultralase in Nottingham. During the consultation I was told that there were some appointments in January and plenty in February. This was
confirmed by phone last week. At no point didi they tell me I couldn't actually secure a date until a matter of a few weeks before.

Hi Laseine,
It may be that the diaries for treatments in February aren't on yet which could be why they've said there are not any treatments available in Feb.
What I'll do is send you a U2U message now and get the manager at Nottingham clinic to contact you if that's ok?

Yes, it is because the diaries aren't available. I find that unbelievable! I can't wait until they are. I need an appointment, and if they can't give
me one, I'll have to cancel. That will mean I will go to another provider, that can work with me, later in the year.

Hi Laseine,
If you can respond to my U2U then I can ask our clinic manager to speak to you about booking an appointment.

I had a similar issue. I went for consultation in October but due to needing IOLs a week apart, I would need almost 2 weeks off work. Since I didn't
have enough holiday left last year I would have to wait for 2010 to have my op. But they couldn't book me in for Jan 2010 because the diary was not
available. In early December the diary finally opened up and I was able to book for Jan 19th. It does seem a little strange, in these days of advanced
technology, that the diary only goes 2 months in advance!!

This is my first post, and I have just booked in for a consultation at the Ultralase Manchester branch. Saturday is the only day I can have my
consultation without taking time off work, and the website stated that the earliest time I could do this was in May. I decided to go ahead and book
the consultation.
I received a call-back from someone at Ultralase shortly afterwards. He asked me why I am booking the consultation in May. I told him that it was
the earliest slot available on Saturday. The guy then told me he will keep a lookout for any Saturday cancellations, and then call me back if an
earlier slot becomes available.
After telling my girlfriend that I had booked a consultation, she then decided to book a consultation also on the same day as me and went through the
similar process as me with a Ultralase rep calling her back.
About a day after booking the consultation, she got a message to advise her than a Saturday slot was available in March. My girlfriend told me about
this, so I had to call back and re-arrange my appointment.
The issue I have is that I would have expected a call back as well. If my girlfriend hadn't told me about the earlier slot that had become available,
then I probably wouldn't have know about it.
This is not a big issue but I did expect more efficiency and organisation with the scheduling and service, especially when I'm still deciding whether
to spend a large amount of money with them!

Hi Steven,
Sorry to hear that you've had a problem with rearranging your appointment. As you can understand Saturday appointments are incredibly popular and it
looks as though there as been a scheduling problem. I have passed your post onto the contact centre manager who will look into what has happened.
If you do want to ask any questions in the meantime, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
